Release notes: s01e01 & s01e02!
Due to time constraints during the beta, MLB data will at times be grabbed prior to it being fully tested by our upstream service. We have not noted any inaccuracies in this methodology for now, and it will prevent us from having an unpredictable release schedule. With that said, our release schedule for the week should be:
May 8, 2023 ~11PM Wrigley time: Episode 3, covering the games from May 7
May 9, 2023 ~7am Fenway time: Episode 4, covering the games from May 8
May 10, 2023 ~9PM Candlestick time: Episode 5, covering the games from May 9
May 11, 2023 ~7am Fenway time: Episode 6, covering the games from May 10
May 12, 2023 ~11pm Candlestick time: Episode 7, covering the games from May 11
May 13, 2023 ~11pm Candlestick time: Episode 8, covering the games from May 12
Getting set up to answer questions!
Regarding pronunciation issues, there are many fixes that CAN be applied. We want to opt for the one that can be automated, and there are some challenges with full automation during the beta. We still have an automated process, however it is too far downstream, and there are may be some minor bugs in the voiceover AI (maybe? maybe its us, we'll see). At any rate, the method we have now is not super time consuming, but it comes toward the end of the release cycle when there has not been time. As automation gets better, non-automated tasks will also get better.
With regard to applications... yes. Wow, yes. They are actually unlimited. We chose baseball because it is not super controversial. It can be easily tested. I like baseball. And I don't mean to be flippant, I think the technology itself is controversial which is why we're navigating the waters with safety in public.Â
